Dreamwork LinksOne of the great things about dreamwork is the fantastic people you meet. Here are links to wonderful dreamers and dreamworkers whose work I admire and rely on in my own explorations. The International Association for the Study of Dreams is an organization of researchers, therapists and teachers. They sponsor conferences (the next scheduled for June 2007 in Sonoma, CA) and workshops, a journal (Dreaming), a magazine (Dream Time) and many online resources. The iMage Project is the dreamchild of Jean Campbell and brings together her many efforts to link dreams with action including the International Dream Scouts, a program to help young people learn about dreaming, dreamwork, and how their dreams can enrich their lives. Electric Dreams is an online journal of dreaming available as a downloadable .pdf which features upcoming events, conferences, workshops and projects, as well as articles about dreamwork and shared dream experiences. Check here for current information on lucid dreaming. The Lucid Dream Exchange offers articles, interviews, and exercises for learning about and practicing lucid dreaming. Dream Tree is a compendium of online resources related to dreaming. The site is beautifully designed but not always up to date; the many resources make it well worth a visit. Steve Aizenstat is a therapist, dreamworker, and founder of the Pacifica Institute, which (among other things) houses the Joseph Campbell archives. His website lists upcoming workshops and lectures, and provides a series of wonderful articles (available as PDF files). I heard Steve's presentation at the 2006 Mythic Journeys conference and would love to take one of his workshops some day. Art That Glows is Laura Atkinson's site, offering examples of her fantastic (in all senses of the word) dream art as well as links to her workshops. Robert Bosnak is a writer and teacher of dreamwork as an alchemical process. His approach is called Embodied Dream Imagery and based in Jungian psychology and bodywork. The online dreamwork groups offered through his website are a wonderful opportunity to learn and practice this powerful approach. Kelly Bulkeley is a dream researcher and author whose writings are both deeply insightful and easily put into practice. Patricia Garfield is a cofounder of the Association for the Study of Dreams and a dreamworker of international reputation. Her website includes a variety of resources, including guidelines for working with nightmares. Patricia Kelly is a dreamer and poet whose blog offers haikus and other works exploring her deeply personal, yet universal dreams. Her equally engaging Tarot blog touches on another of my burgeoning interests. Linda Lane MagallŪn is a lucid dream flyer par excellence whose site offers lots of information about dream flights and lucid dreaming. Arnold Mindell writes amazing books on the connections between body and psyche. His work with his wife Amy Mindell led to the development of Process Oriented Psychology. Susan Morgan is a creative and intuitive dreamworker whose Mystic Dream Center in Mystic, CT offers a variety of workshops and consultation opportunities. Robert Moss is a shamanic dreamworker whose website includes upcoming workshops, published works, and a variety of articles and resources available online. Jeremy Taylor is a therapist and minister who has worked with dreams and dreamers for many year in a wide variety of settings. His web site lists upcoming workshops and lectures, as well as links and resources for dreamers. Barbara Tedlock is a dreamer, shaman and anthropologist whose books are wonderful resources. Montague Ullman is a founder of the style of dreamwork I use, recognizing the dreamer as the first and last expert on the meaning and significance of dreams. Over the course of his career, he has done groundbreaking work on dreams and dreaming. |
